Comparative Analysis of Different Models of Electric Arc Furnace
Main Article Content
Abstract
The nonlinear and time varying nature of Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) causes
power quality problems such as harmonics, flicker and voltage /current
imbalances. In order to analyze the power quality of power system containing
EAF, mathematical model of arc furnace becomes useful and informative.
This paper presents different models of alternating current operated arc furnace
to analyze the power quality in electric power system. The behavior of these
models under static and dynamic conditions is studied. A comparison is also
made between these models of arc furnace. Simulation results in MATLAB/
SIMULINK shows the voltage/current wave forms and percentage harmonic
component in arc furnace system.
