Evaluating the Commitment and Impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the Cement Industry: A Comprehensive Literature Review

Abstract

This study presents a critical analysis of existing literature on corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices in the cement
industry across India and comparative international contexts. Drawing on 17 academic studies published between 2012 and
2023, the research identifies key CSR focus areas such as education, health, rural development, environmental sustainability,
and financial performance, while highlighting significant implementation gaps. It concludes with implications for policy
and future research directions, particularly the need for localized strategies, innovation, and public-private partnerships
to optimize CSR outcomes.
