Abstract

Due to the increasing number of fire accidents that are able to leave behind great losses and
complete collapse of structures, structural fire safety has become a major consideration in
the design of high rise buildings. Fire is considered to be a major threat for buildings and
its surroundings. Fire can be occurred at any stage of construction and the time or intensity
cannot be predicted earlier. Concrete encased composite beams are those in which structural
steel is fully covered by concrete. Concrete is considered to be a fire resistant material to an
extent. So by providing concrete as cover to the structural member the fire resistance of the
member can be improved. But as the temperature increases there will be spalling of concrete
and steel get exposed to more fire. Design of multi storied structure is finished utilizing ETABS
software dependent on [IS-1893: 2002] Considering live load, dead load, wind load and earth
quake load. In this investigation, Response spectrum is finished. The columns are subjected to
different load combinations along with fire loading ranging from 8000C-15000C.Comparative
investigation on multistoried structure with STEEL, CFST and CES section for Fire loading.
Seismic response of the structure in terms of Storey Displacement, Storey Drift, Base Shear,
Natural Time period. To recommend the reasonable columns for fire load. Time temperature
chart for the member is also plotted in this paper.
