The complex interdependencies of financial institutions, firms and assets are not effectively considered by traditional risk assessment techniques, which limits their predictive ability. This paper explores measurement of systemic risk using financial model networks with focus on the contribution of interbank relationships, multiple layer interactions and market-based contagion effects. The study has a broad framework in measuring systemic risk by combining network topology metrics, simulation-based and market-based measures like CoVaR and MES. The empirical study indicates the relevance of centrality, the potential of contagion, and cross-layer interactions in identifying the systemically important institutions. The results highlight the usefulness of network-based methods in the context of early warning systems, stress testing, and policy formation, and provide recommendations on future studies in the field of multi-layer and AI-enhanced systemic risk modeling.
Sidney Eddia Njenge ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2026-02-24 2026-02-24 16 01 1 12 10.21567/10.21567/adhyayan.v16i1.01 The Impact of the Iran-US-Israel War Petrol Crisis on Indian Businesses: A Comprehensive Analysis https://smsjournals.com/index.php/Adhyayan/article/view/3520
The escalation of the Iran-US-Israel conflict in 2026 has triggered a significant global petroleum crisis with substantial ramifications for India’s economic landscape. As one of the world’s largest crude oil importers, India faces unprecedented challenges to its energy security, business operations, and macroeconomic stability. This research examines the multifaceted impact of the petroleum crisis on Indian businesses across various sectors, analysing the transmission mechanisms of geopolitical shocks through energy markets, supply chains, and financial systems. The study reveals that the conflict-induced oil price volatility has disrupted trade patterns, intensified inflationary pressures, weakened currency stability, and created sector-specific vulnerabilities. The findings underscore the urgency of strategic energy diversification, enhanced reserve management, and targeted policy interventions to mitigate the adverse effects on India’s business ecosystem.
Abhishek Chowdhary Asad Usmani ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2026-06-29 2026-06-29 16 01 28 35 10.21567/adhyayan.v16i1.04 Analysing The Factors of Economic Growth with Respect to Sector Diversification: A Comparison Between India and China https://smsjournals.com/index.php/Adhyayan/article/view/3474
The understanding of sectoral dynamics of economic growth is essential for developing efficient development strategies, especially in emerging markets like China and India. This paper provides a comparative econometric analysis of the contributions of agriculture, industry, and services to GDP growth in these two countries from 1984 to 2023. Despite significant literature on specific countries, there is still a research void in long-term comparison assessments that employ consistent time series approaches. To fill this gap, the current study adopts a structured econometric framework that incorporates Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) unit root testing for stationarity and Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression modelling to assess sectoral influences on GDP. The analysis determines that in India, the services sector has the greatest impact on GDP, followed by agriculture and industry, showing a shift toward a service-oriented economic model. In contrast, China's growth pattern represents a more balanced contribution from all three sectors, which is consistent with the country's historically industrial-led development plan. The findings have important policy implications: India should increase service sector productivity and modernize agriculture to enable long-term growth, whereas China should preserve sectoral balance to ensure long-term stability. The study adds empirical insight to the literature, aiding targeted policy decisions in emerging economies.
Rahat Naaz Balwant Singh ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2026-06-29 2026-06-29 16 01 76 87 10.21567/adhyayan.v16i1.10 Usage of Mobile Applications in Accounting Practices of Micro and Small Businesses with Special Reference to Eastern Uttar Pradesh https://smsjournals.com/index.php/Adhyayan/article/view/3478
The functions of MSE’s are important for the regional balance, employment generation not only in urban but also in rural
areas, as well as contribute a significant role in the GDP. Existing research has extensively examined both the positive and negative outcomes of influencer-led communication, particularly in relation to consumption behaviour and psychological responses. Building on this body of work, the present narrative review synthesises prior theoretical and empirical studies to bring together current insights on how continuous exposure to influencer content affects user well-being. The review identifies reliable evidence related to the repeated exposure to the well-edited material on lifestyle, luxury, and food topics and the development of anxiety, insecurity, fear of missing out, and compulsive social media usage. In addition to these personal emotional implications, there are other social implications that are mentioned in the literature, such as decreased offline communication and erosion of social bonds in real life. Besides, the functions of content authenticity, media literacy, and mindful digital engagement are also discussed in the paper, which designates them as significant variables that can facilitate the minimization of these adverse implications. This review combines marketing, psychological and media research, providing a clear and in-depth insight into the emotional, behavioural and social consequences of consuming content of influencers and emphasizes the role of more balanced and conscious use of digital platforms.
Prabhjot Prabhjot Ritu Narang ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2026-06-29 2026-06-29 16 01 47 53 10.21567/adhyayan.v16i1.06 Leveraging Employee Agility to Navigate Entrepreneurial Challenges: A Theoretical Perspective https://smsjournals.com/index.php/Adhyayan/article/view/3464
There are numerous studies that address the challenges faced by entrepreneurial firms in India. However, there remains a gap in the literature to address these challenges from an employee perspective. More specifically, the role of employee agility in context to these challenges remains unexplored. It is to be noted that, the role of employees is extremely crucial for survival of any entrepreneurial firm. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to review the challenges faced by entrepreneurial ventures in India and how employee agility can help in tackling these challenges. For this purpose, the study has conducted a theoretical review of existing literature. The findings of this study are presented in two parts. First, we identified the major challenges of entrepreneurial ventures in India. In the second part, we elaborated on the role of employee agility and how it can be effectively employed by the organizations to mitigate the negative effects of these challenges. According to the literature, some of the major challenges faced by the entrepreneurial firms in India are lack of understanding of market needs (market related barriers), unfriendly regulations by the government, technological barrier and employee hiring and retention. In light of these challenges, some of the major strategies under the purview of employee agility are optimizing technological solutions through innovation, continuous learning and development, adaptability towards product customization and proactive response to market trends. Incorporating employee agility in such firms will not only address the current challenges, but will also help them to thrive in a competitive environment.
Kirti Singh ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2026-06-29 2026-06-29 16 01 54 57 10.21567/adhyayan.v16i1.07 The Structural Transformation of Financial Empowerment through Digital Public Infrastructure in India https://smsjournals.com/index.php/Adhyayan/article/view/3522
India’s journey toward a USD 5 trillion economy by 2025 has been fundamentally reshaped by a state-led digital revolution, with Digital Financial Inclusion at its core. The strategic deployment of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI)—a secure and interoperable framework—has catalyzed a paradigm shift, moving technology adoption from mere access to becoming the primary engine for socio-economic development. This transformation is most profoundly evident in the pursuit of Rural Financial Empowerment, where the convergence of DPI and Artificial Intelligence (AI) acts as a force multiplier, enabling personalized service delivery at an unprecedented scale in a diverse nation. Critical Government Initiatives have architecturally and operationally redefined the state-market-citizen interaction. These policies have systematically leveraged technology to bridge historic divides, integrating vast rural populations into the formal economy. The analysis that follows examines this multi-layered transformation, evaluating how the fusion of policy, digital identity, payment systems, and data empowerment has fundamentally altered the trajectory of financial access and agency for 1.4 billion people. Ultimately, India’s experience underscores that targeted technological infrastructure is not merely an efficiency tool but the foundational bedrock for inclusive growth, demonstrating a replicable model for digital financial inclusion that empowers citizens directly and transforms the economic landscape from the ground up.
Qazi Abdul Nadeem Najeeb ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2026-06-29 2026-06-29 16 01 58 65 10.21567/adhyayan.v16i1.08 Shopping in the Online Retailing: Examining Customer Trust Through Mobile Augmented Reality https://smsjournals.com/index.php/Adhyayan/article/view/3523
Digital marketing and online customer experiences have been revolutionized by the quick development of augmented reality technologies. This study examines how important technology features—interactivity, vividness, and information quality—affect consumer trust and how that trust affects behavioral intention.
Data were collected through a structured questionnaire employing a five-point Likert scale from respondents with experience using digital platforms. A total of 315 individuals participated in the survey. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS. The findings demonstrate that interactivity and information quality significantly enhance customer trust, whereas vividness does not. Additionally, customer trust exerts a strong positive influence on behavioral intention, underscoring its essential role in technology adoption behavior.
The results indicate that digital platforms should prioritize interactive features and provide accurate, useful information to enhance customer trust and promote favorable behavioral intentions. This study contributes to the literature on digital marketing and consumer behavior by offering empirical insights into how technological attributes influence trust and behavioral intention in technology-mediated environments. However, several limitations must be acknowledged. Future research should employ diverse sampling strategies and alternative data collection methods to further validate these results.
Shankar Singh Bhakuni Sachin Kumar Srivastava ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2026-06-29 2026-06-29 16 01 75 66 10.21567//adhyayan.v16i1.09 Understanding the Digital-Green Nexus: Generational Insights into Sustainable Buying Behaviour https://smsjournals.com/index.php/Adhyayan/article/view/3483
The growing penetration of digital technologies into the daily life has changed the way consumers obtain, process, and react to information that is related to sustainability. The digital platforms are now considered to be powerful spaces of communicating and assessing environmental discourses, and credibility and trust become essential in consumer decision-making. The paper discusses how perceived credibility of digital platforms and environmental concern affects sustainable buying behaviour and how digital engagement and trust in green advertising affect consumer responses. It also examines the effect of age in the strength of these relationships among generational groups. The research is based on the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) theory, which suggests that believable digital environments and an increased awareness of the environment provoke internal consumer appraisals resulting in responsible purchasing behaviour. The combination of technological, psychological, and communication-related considerations results in the comprehensive understanding of the functioning of the sustainability messages in the digital ecosystems. The results are likely to provide the marketers and policymakers with knowledge on how to develop clear and reliable sustainability communications policies that can help motivate veritable behavioural change and enhance responsible consumption patterns.
Sreejaa G Nair Ranjith Somasundaran Chakkambath Bibin Thomas M Soniya Syriac ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2026-06-29 2026-06-29 16 01 88 95 10.21567/adhyayan.v16i1.11 Nexus Between Digital Twin, Green Supply Chain Management, and Environmental Performance: Decoding Conceptual Roots https://smsjournals.com/index.php/Adhyayan/article/view/3488
For improving operational and environmental performance, the confluence of sustainability and digital innovation has propelled businesses to explore novel approaches. This study examines the role of digital twin (DT) technology in enhancing environmental performance (EP) through Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) practices. While prior research has examined GSCM and EP, limited studies have investigated the integrated relationship between digital twin technology, GSCM practices, and environmental performance. To address this gap, the current study develops a conceptual model based on a systematic literature review of prior research. The study employs a qualitative research approach, making use of secondary data collected from academic databases such as Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar. Grounded Theory and Conceptual Framework Analysis (CFA) are adopted to identify key constructs and investigate their relationship. The findings suggest that DT enhances supply chain visibility, instantaneous tracking, and forecast-based decision-making, supporting the execution of GSCM approaches such as reverse logistics, eco-design, and green purchasing. Furthermore, the integration of DT enhances environmental outcomes through maximizing resource productivity by mitigating emissions. The study proposes a conceptual model that links DT, GSCM, and environmental performance. It also provides practical implications for businesses to achieve environmental sustainability through digital transformation. Future research should emphasise empirical analysis of the proposed framework in various industries.
Mayank Shukla Salil Seth Mohd Irfan Pathan ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2026-06-29 2026-06-29 16 01 96 101 10.21567/adhyayan.v16i1.12 Psychosocial Interventions and Gendered Mental Health Vulnerabilities Among Homeless Adults: A Case Study of Hastings, Kolkata https://smsjournals.com/index.php/Adhyayan/article/view/3525
Homelessness is deeply intertwined with structural marginalization, poverty, and gendered vulnerabilities that significantly shape mental health outcomes. In Hastings, Kolkata - an area characterized by dense urban precarity and limited access to welfare services - homeless adults experience heightened psychosocial stressors, compounded by inadequate institutional support. This study, titled “Psychosocial Interventions and Gendered Mental Health Vulnerabilities Among Homeless Adults: A Case Study of Hastings, Kolkata,” adopts an embedded case study design to examine the intersection of mental health distress, social support deficits, and psychosocial intervention practices within a defined urban context.
Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected from 133 homeless adults through standardized instruments, including the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12) and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). To capture lived experiences and gendered dimensions of vulnerability, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 20 homeless participants (men and women) and 5 professionals involved in intervention delivery, including social workers and mental health practitioners. Quantitative data were analysed using SPSS, while qualitative data were examined through thematic analysis to identify patterns related to distress, coping, and service access.
Findings indicate that nearly 70% of participants exhibited significant psychological distress, with women reporting higher levels of emotional strain, safety-related anxiety, and social isolation compared to men. Perceived social support was consistently low across familial, peer, and community networks. However, individuals who accessed psychosocial interventions - such as individual counselling, peer support groups, crisis referrals, and community outreach - reported improvements in emotional regulation, coping capacity, and perceived social connectedness. Qualitative insights further revealed that gender-sensitive outreach, sustained trust-building, and integrated service delivery were critical in facilitating engagement, particularly among women experiencing compounded vulnerabilities.
The study underscores the urgent need for structured, gender-responsive, and community-based psychosocial services tailored to the complex realities of urban homelessness. By situating mental health within broader social and gendered contexts, this case study contributes to a deeper understanding of how targeted psychosocial interventions can mitigate vulnerability and promote sustainable pathways toward well-being and social reintegration.
Hiratan Dey Marie Martinho Nympha Ivi Dey ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2026-06-29 2026-06-29 16 01 102 110 10.21567/adhyayan.v16i1.13 Agri-preneurs and Rural Development: Problems among Agricultural Graduates https://smsjournals.com/index.php/Adhyayan/article/view/3526
In India, the rural population has challenges in the areas of education, healthcare, and entrepreneurship. Agriculture is the mainstay of the rural Indian economy today. Other agriculture-related enterprises, such as poultry, dairy, and cattle farming, contribute as well. Apart from agro-based sectors, however, other industries must be established to stimulate entrepreneurship in rural areas. (Dandekar et al 2021). It is also expected that the agri-preneurs will work in rural areas and hence- develop the society in which they are working. India is also known as land of villages and the development of villages will ultimately result in the development of the nation.
The goal of this research is to shed some insight into the concept of entrepreneurship. Identifying obstacles and solutions when it comes to entrepreneurship as a career choice for agricultural students, as well as defining entrepreneurship, the need for entrepreneurs in the agricultural industry, and defining entrepreneurship as a career option for agricultural students..
Neeraj Singh ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2026-06-29 2026-06-29 16 01 111 115 10.21567/adhyayan.v16i1.14 Enterprise Business Intelligence and Financial Analytics with a focus on Enterprise Data Architecture and Predictive Risk Integration https://smsjournals.com/index.php/Adhyayan/article/view/3490
Financial analytics and Enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) are now becoming important facilitators of strategic decisions
within contemporary organizations, especially in organizations that are highly uncertain and intricate risk dynamics. This
paper will look at how enterprise data architecture and predictive risk analytics can be incorporated to improve financial
intelligence, operations efficiency and proactive risk management. It emphasizes that a properly designed data architecture,
including data warehouses, data lakes, and real-time processing solutions are the foundations of the scaled BI systems. The
study also discusses the applications of predictive models such as machine learning and statistical forecasting systems in
the discovery of possible financial risks, enhancement of accurate predictions, and guiding timely decisions.
The research takes a conceptual and analytical methodology, which includes integration of the available frameworks
regarding enterprise architecture, business intelligence, and financial risk management. It shows that coordination of
BI tools with built in data architectures is the way to flow data smoothly, enhance it in terms of its quality, and increase
visualization capabilities. Moreover, predictive risk integration helps to identify the occurrence of financial abnormalities
in an earlier manner, minimizes exposure to risk, and enhances the governance frameworks. Irrespective of all these
benefits, some issues like data silos, interoperability, and cost of implementation have been a big impediment on effective
implementation.
The findings drive the significance of an integrated enterprise framework which consolidates data architecture, BI systems,
and predictive analytics to provide sustainable financial performance and resilience. The paper concludes by stating that
in order to fully deliver on the benefits of enterprise BI in financial analytics, organizations must invest in more advanced
data infrastructure and implement predictive analytics capabilities and strong practices of data governance.
Janardhana Naidu Kola ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2026-04-07 2026-04-07 16 01 20 28 10.21567/adhyayan.v16i1.03 B-Schools in India Lacking Proper Research Ecosystem: Can We Regenerate the Skeleton https://smsjournals.com/index.php/Adhyayan/article/view/3527
The purpose of this article is to find out exactly why and where we lag in ‘Research’ in Business Schools (B-Schools)? And how can we, within the ambit of existing challenges, build up a research eco -system that could do something to address societal issues hovering for years, also simultaneously extend our findings to the industrial units for not only making them more competitive and innovative but also socially more responsible and relevant besides seeking standard researches from the B-Schools.
Management Education, although no more elite, as it belongs to the common Indian citizen, is still however understood as a lead runner amongst all modern professional streams of the twenty first century. With our nation aspiring to become a part of the elite ‘developed’ group by 2047, we need to understand the challenges and opportunities facing our B-Schools or Management education units of our Universities and Technical Institutions as of now, specially related to Research. It is so because we understand, a strong, vibrant and robust research eco-system is one of the guiding ways to prosperity of the human kind which we all aspire. As happens with our societal diversity and ethnicity, we also intend to put the hue of prosperity and development to our B-School environment. No other nation perhaps in the world is better prepared for the challenges posed by diversity as ours. And when such a diversity hovers around, we get a wide range of issues – related to behavioural dimensions, social and economic kaleidoscope, innovation quotient, spiritual spreads, the dimensions are endless!
But then why most of our B-Schools have been keeping themselves out of the platter arranged by our environment for coming out with solutions to the problems existing in society, mind it, corporate sector too happens to be a part of our social system! And we must believe, research provides solutions to umpteen problems that deter growth and arrest prosperity.
Alok Kumar Pramod Pathak ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2026-06-29 2026-06-29 16 01 116 126 10.21567/adhyayan.v16i1.15
